German Exchange Visit

We have now agreed on a format for the Community Parade that is to be held in Kirkbymoorside on Sunday 30th October, it will set off from the bandroom at 11:15. Please can you ensure that your group is at the bandroom for no later than 11:00 so we can arrange the order/position of the parade etc.

The parade will hopefully consist of the following community groups:

Kirkbymoorside Town Brass Band

Himmighausen Blasorkester

Kirkbymoorside Fire Brigade

Kirkbymoorside Town Council

Kirkbymoorside Royal British Legion

Kirkbymoorside Scout/Cub/Beaver/Guide/Brownie movements

Kirkbymoorside Community Primary School

Kirkbymoorside Kids Club

Kirkbymoorside Pre-School Playgroup

Kirkbymoorside (classic cars & sports cars society)

Kirkbymoorside Football Club

Ryedale Automobile Club

We would like those organisations which have a formal uniform to attend the parade in their uniform, other participants in the parade we would encourage to come in fancy dress which should we hope add some further colour and interest to the parade.

There is no specific theme for the fancy dress.

The parade will consist of a march around Kirkbymoorside (with music from both bands) it will start at the Bandroom (meet at 11:00 at the bandroom, parade due to set off at 11:15), moving on down the main street and stopping outside 'All Saints - Church Street'. Here there will be a short service with communal hymn singing. The parade will then move on down West End and up to the British Legion Club. 

The Fancy Dress Competition will be judged at the end of the parade at the British legion Club (approx 12:30). 

The local Fire Brigade will also be putting on a small demonstration at the end of the parade. We have encouraged as many local community groups as possible to join in with this parade, the idea is to celebrate the friendship that has developed over many years between Kirkbymoorside & Himmighausen over this long period of time.
