Our Future
"What do we really want for our community?”
What is happening?
During the coming months of winter and early spring, your town and its communities have an opportunity to take part in "KMS - Our Future". Sponsored by Yorkshire Forward, your regional development agency, and supported by Ryedale District and North Yorkshire County Councils, this initiative invites you to be part of shaping the future of your community.
Why Do This?
Change is inevitable. Choices will need to be made. Such decisions will be made by your community or made elsewhere. “KMS – Our Future” is designed to encourage and enable our rural communities to take control of our own destiny in partnership with statutory bodies.
How does it work?
Many communities have great ideas but often they do not have the resources and skills to see these ideas through. “KMS - Our Future” provides the community with the expertise to develop a vision & charter which will describe how you wish to see the future in ten, twenty or more years. It also helps us build a master plan of the action and activities required to help achieve the vision’s aims. In addition, a delivery plan is created for the first and most important of these activities to encourage public and private investment to make the vision wishes a reality.
How do I get involved?
A team made up of local people will soon be formed. This will act as the focal point for the development of the vision and various plans in the community.
This team will hold meetings on a regular basis, advertised through the local press and other means, at which your views will be heard.Notes of KMS Team Meetings - click here.

Get involved, make your choices heard.
