The Ryedale Auto Club was formed on January 9th 2005 in a meeting held at Beadlam with the following participants:

John Buffoni, Paul Buffoni, Bob Gardiner, John Richmond, Tom Hollows, William Woods, David Begg.

       

The aims of the club are to promote/encourage


• Common interest in cars of all types and driving
• Attendance at motor sport events and associated knowledge / interest activities
• Safe and courteous driving and improvement in driving skills
• Participation by younger members
• Discuss and share driving/general car experiences
• Local area participation only

Overall, it was agreed to keep the formation and running of the club as simple and straightforward as possible

The inaugral run of the Ryedale Auto Club, on 17th April , was very well attended. There were two Triumph Stags, a Morris Minor, MGB, Aston Martin DB7, a Robin Hood kit car, Jaguar XKR, MG TD, Triumph Herald and an E Type Jaguar that sounded like a Spitfire. The weather was delightful and the run round the Moors was just the start we had hoped for. Many thanks to John Richmond and David Begg for the planning and organisation.
