The Tower was rebuilt in 1804 and the chancel is 13th century in parts. The remains of an Anglican cross were removed when the church was restructured in 1874. Its fabric also contains a Saxon sundial. The rare two-storey porch containing a parvise is of the 15th century. The iron porch gates were made at Dowson’s Forge in 1931. The Community Garden, an area for quiet relaxation, was created to the east of the church in 2000.
